Sphinx AC were represented at a relatively small number of ParkRun events today, but there were a number of PBs and the return of a few familiar faces… Coventry 25 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with no first-timers and 4 PBs. Our old friend, Lucy Smith, made her first appearance in a year and took first lady position with a cheeky PB to boot! The national XC championships in the afternoon meant that a number of our regular runners didn’t participate.

Five Sphinx AC runners travelled to Lincolnshire for this off-road half marathon. Official results hadn’t been published online at the time of writing, but some had been circulated by email. Sphinx AC were represented at a number of ParkRuns this weekend, with Robyn McSharry taking first lady place at Coventry – but cruelly equalling her PB! Coventry 24 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with no first-timers and no PBs. This week, there was some small changes to the course; instead of starting on the field, we started on the path between the memorial and the Kenilworth/Leamington Road traffic lights.

Sphinx AC men gave it everything they had at the last race in this season’s Birmingham League XC fixtures but the task of rising out of the relegation zone was just too much. A very special “congratulations” goes to Ben Orme, who celebrated his 80th consecutive XC event. Sphinx, Northbrook and Masseys were all jostling for positions to avoid relegation, but sadly (and quite surprisingly, it has to be said), all three Coventry teams have been relagated to division three.
