The Greenway handicap race had to be cancelled today due to the unsafe conditions. As reported by Darron the underfoot conditions were appalling with many parts of the footpath flooded and there was the additional risk of branches and trees being blown down onto the course. The race will be re-arranged later in the year. Thanks to all those who turned up especially the marshals who were prepared to stand out in the awful weather.

13 Sphinx AC and Saracens runners ran this weekend, with no first-timers and 1 PB. Mitch Timms scanned barcodes and Susan Gough operated the timing device. Today’s conditions were pretty cold and wet but this didn’t deter 320 people from participating – a new course attendance record. This was Theresa Mason’s 100th ParkRun and she was “encouraged” to run the course with a helium balloon attached! (Theresa used to run with Sphinx and we still see her every Saturday.
