Results for Coventry parkrun, 03-Oct-2015

Most enjoyable Park Run at Coventry this morning. Decided to attend the newbies’ talk, no idea why, but ironically I met up with 4 friends from Redway Runners, Milton Keynes, who were attending Coventry Park Run for the very first time (en route to Chester for the Chester Marathon tomorrow). Garry Biddle, I’ve known for a couple of years from the EMGP circuit and his partner, Rose Turney, I met in Lanzarote. They were accompanied by Becky and Simon Read, the former looking for a Park Run PB quicker than 29:27. We all ran together and with great encouragement from the other three and a bit of local knowledge from yours truly Becky knocked a massive 45 seconds off her time, coming in at 28:26. A great morning and what Park Run is all about really. Wishing them all the best for Chester.

In Rose’s words:

Becky got a 45 second PB with help from Mitch and the rest of us. Mitch was explaining the course to her as we ran round having not previously done it before. Letting her know where the hillier and easier parts were. Very well organised and marshalled event that we will definitely be returning to.

Results for the TrailFfest half-marathon, 26-Sep-2015

[Caution]: The following report contains images that people of a nervous disposition may find disturbing.

Mitch and Jackie completed this unique event in Wales, described as:

The Trailffest half marathon is one of the most scenic you could hope to run, with dramatic changes of scenery and terrain the whole way to the finish line.

With the start up in the mountains at 710 feet elevation and the finish down by the sea, it may sound easy – but don’t be fooled! There are some very steep and challenging climbs along the way.

The adventure starts in the rugged slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog lying at the foot of the Moelwyn mountain range and finishes by the sea in the pretty harbour town of Porthmadog.
