Although we had a bit of poor turnout at the final fixture of the West Midlands Young Athletes Cross-Country League at Perry Park with only 11 youngsters running, they all ran well with Ellen Bollard in the U13 girls and and Jamie Cozens in the U17 boys picking up trophies for both coming 6th overall in their age groups which is a fantastic achievement. It was cold, it was wet and for some of us it was a bit hard to find (you know who you are!). A three mile handicap or “pace race”, where we estimated our finish times and the winner was the person closest to their estimate. Don’t forget, ParkRun is free to enter and is only 5K (3.1 miles). You have to register in advance but it only takes a few minutes and it’s all done online.
Darren is a top personal trainer who has worked with some really decent athletes and we are very lucky that he has offered to give his time to us for free so please repay his generosity by coming along and listening in. Darren is not charging us for this session but has asked that we pass a hat round for a charity collection, which we think is more than reasonable of him.
Due to the inclement weather over the last few days, a few events were cancelled, notably the Coventry ParkRun, The Frankton Handicap and the Long Sunday Run. However, we have ONE result: Wedgnock Hills 10km MT race
