Results for Sphinx AC Summer 5, 30-Jun-2010

225 runners completed this year’s Sphinx AC Summer 5, with a superb turn-out from many of the local clubs and some excellent results. Winners Ed Banks and Richard White, both from BRAT, took first and second places, with Sphinx AC‘s own Ashley Miles taking third. Verteran and junior men The first veteran home was Stuart Mead of Spa Striders and at the other end of the scale, the first MU20 was Sphinx AC‘s Tom Delaney.

Results for Coventry Fun Run, 27-Jun-2010

Many Sphinx AC seniors and juniors took part today, with Ashley Miles winning the individual race, Jamie Cozens winning U15 male and Sphinx AC winning the team race. There are no official results or times but Ashley Miles finished first in 19m + something, Pete Fahy third and Jamie Cozens fourth. Other seniors (and family) included: Justin Smith (sixth), Ian Gower (fourteenth), Collin Taylor (seventeenth), followed in no particular order by Phil Wilson, Bernard Blundell, Andy Norton, Tom Delaney, Pete Delaney, Mark Smith, Rob Stuart, Pippa Gower, Theresa Mason, Sian Downing.

New fixtures from Rob Anderson

Rob Anderson has provided details of 12, 18 and 26.2 mile races in Stevenage on 18 July: Below is a link to the Fairlands Valley Challenge, this consists of 3 separate distance runs, a 12 miler, an 18 miler, and a 26.2 miler, all multi terrain I believe. Steve Colbourne has entered, and also handed out a few forms at the club I think, but it may be worth adding to the Fixtures Page for more people to see.

Results for the Monks Kirby Village Races, 19-Jun-2010

A number of Sphinx AC runners, juniors and family members ran in events associated with Monks Kirby’s Village Fete. There are two races held in conjunction with the Monks Kirby Village Fete. In the 3 mile race, Sphinx AC’s Collin Taylor, who is also a Village Elder, was a clear winner with Nick Gilkes and Pete Delaney the other Sphinx runners in the race. This is followed by a 1 mile race in which we had the first boy in Scott Truslove and the first girl, the rapidly improving Hannah Downing.
