As summer rapidly becomes a distant memory, the temperatures start to fall and running 5k around a park becomes a very pleasant activity! Sphinx AC had representatives in at least three events this weekend, with Colin Piper comfortably joining the “sub 20” club, and Kyza Derby and Ian Wilkinson taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively at Coventry. At least 30 Sphinx AC runners took part in this very popular local half marathon. Conditions were bright and cool to start with, but the temperature rose quickly as the race progressed. The course was as undulating as ever but full marks to Kenilworth Runners – water stations a-plenty, enthusiastic and supportive marshals and top-notch organisation all round.
