Stuart Banbrook and Bryan Pears represented Sphinx AC in the fastest ever (official & modern) marathon. Stuart and Bryan were lucky enough to participate in this world record-breaking run, with Wilson Kipsan finishing just ahead of them in the breathtaking time of 2:03:23. The lads also came back with a pretty smart technical t-shirt each. Ten Sphinx AC runners took part in this challenging race over an equine assault cource in Leicestershire. This is a “double” or “quit” event, where competitors have the option of finishing after one lap, or carrying on to do two. Sphinx AC were represented at just two ParkRun events this weekend, as some of our regulars were in foreign climes (USA and France). Braunstone Park (Leicester) Bernard Blundell and Wayne Broadbent made the easy half-hour journey up the M69 to run the ever-welcoming Braunstone run on the event of their 3rd anniversary. Conditions were bright but crisp, with the morning mist clearing just before the start of the run.
