9 Sphinx runners completed the Godiva Autumnal 5 Mile race on Weds evening 20th August. Race conditions were dry and mild. The course was one short lap followed by two longer laps within the War Memorial Park. Five runners managed to set a new 5 mile PB.
The final evening race of this year’s handicap series took place over the traditional course at Corley Moor, which includes the 2 mile climb up Wall Hill Road to the finish. 36 runners, including 2 guests, took part on a cool, chilly evening but despite the conditions there were several excellent runs from several of the athletes. Mark Moran continues to improve taking over 7 minutes off his previous best time on this course, while Fiona Quinn set another personal best by taking over 5 minutes off her PB for the course.
1 Sphinx runner completed the Rose of Tralee 10k race on Sun 17th August. Rob says “it was net uphill and windy!”
11 Sphinx runners completed the Race the Train Rotary Challenge on Saturday 16th August. The train time was 1h 48m 18s.
32 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran various parkruns this morning. A total of 7 new PBs were recorded.
1 Sphinx runner completed the BRAT Rowheath 5K race on Weds 13th August.
9 Sphinx AC runners took part in the fifth of six races in the Northbrook AC Summer Handicap 2014 on Weds 6th August.
