Alan Patrick completed this multi-lap, multi-obstacle race in Derby, finishing 96th out of 1,881.
It was a fun, but tough mud course with 64 obstacles to complete. This included a variety of walls, cargo nets, monkey bars, mud runs, a swamp (up to chest in mud) fire jump, tunnel, a couple of water slides, a small swim and human cannonball!
3 Sphinx teams competed in this large event, held at Sutton Park. Each leg was 5.848km for the men and 4.315km for the women. A big thanks to everyone that took part, supported, and provided refreshments (tea, coffee, and delicious cakes and sweets!).
Jackie and Mitch Timms completed this unique off-road event in Wales. The description and feedback from Mitch was very positive:
Cracking half, all off-road. A steam train from Ffestiniog railway station to the start, then a ‘shark’s teeth’ course back to the station. Definitely do again in 2015.

8 Sphinx runners completed this picturesque half-marathon in Wales, with a PB for Andy McIntosh too!
Mary Bench completed this half-marathon, which was awarded the accolade of Best New Race at the Runner’s World Personal Best Awards.
The final race of this year’s handicap series was run along The Greenway from Burton Green to Kenilworth on an out and back course, with 21 runners taking part. As always there were several performances worth mentioning, Ash Miles set his 4th new course record of the year taking a second off his time from last year. More impressive however was the new ladies course record set by Catherine Gough who improved her own record also set last year by almost a minute. There were also new personal bests from a further 4 competitors, while Dorota Brynkiewicz was closest to her estimated time.
Another eventful parkrun morning, with Sphinx runners taking two of the three podium places at Coventry, some parkrun tourism, and 4 PBs
