There were good performances all round in tough conditions. Well done to all.
Karen Timothy was first lady home on her debut at Kingsbury Water, finishing with an impressive 84.79% age grade. Well done, Karen!
In Karen’s own words:
Great way to start the New Year! 1st lady at Kingsbury Park run today in 20:16 on a muddy course. A PB of 2:52 ably assisted by Nelson!
This was the third race of the day for some!
As usual, there was excellent organisation from our friends at Massey Ferguson RC to make this race efficient and enjoyable.
A good turnout from Sphinx saw Ash cross the line first, but this race is all about how close you are to your prediction when running sans Garmin. Paul (12 seconds adrift), Ash (13 seconds adrift), and Chris (17 seconds ahead) were metronomic enough to claim 3 of the top 10 closest to their prediction. Several Sphinxites got lucky in the post-race raffle to cap off an enjoyable morning.
It was all about timings and logistics on New Year’s Day as several Sphinx runners took advantage of staggered start times to run more than one parkrun. Some even managed three races (2 parkruns + Massey pace race) before noon! Spot the doublers…
A great turnout of Sphinx runners at this festive cross-country race. Ash finished in 3rd place.
6 Sphinx runners took on the mud and obstacles of the no-nonsense Gaddesby Gallop. Ash finished in 2nd place and a good time was had by all.
3 intrepid Sphinx runners completed this popular Boxing Day handicap race.
First Timers everywhere as Sphinx AC runners/family/friends took in new parkruns. There were six first timers in total and 1 new PB.
Merry Christmas and 100 parkruns up for Laura Pibworth-Dolinski. Lauara also set a new course PB at Woodley.
There was a fine turnout at Coventry, with Tom Anstiss bagging a festive PB.
Elsewhere, Alex Bartlett took in Bushy parkrun for the first time.
Well done to all!
