Sixteen Sphinx AC runners (including one friend) invaded the first of this year’s Centurions Grand Prix series, winning a stunning FIVE place/age/category prizes and two raffle prizes! Conditions were very good – cool, dry and bright, without too much of a breeze. Anybody that’s run this race knows how much a breeze can affect your performance down that back straight. Ashley Miles came 2nd overall. Mark Smith won 2nd male veteran.

A few of us ran the course of the 2011 Sphinx AC Coombe 8 over the weekend and it was measured at a whisker under 8.4 miles. The conditions on Saturday were dry and bright but it was quite blowy. We were a bit stop-and-starty as we were recording where the mile markers should go and where all the turning points are.
