The Sphinx AC ladies were out in force again representing the club in the Midland Counties Road Relay Champs, over a 3 mile course at Sutton Park. The team finished in 34th position in a cumulative time of 2:28:45. 18 Sphinx AC and Saracens runners ran this weekend, with no first-timers and 4 PBs. Andy Wilkinson won the race outright, leaving his brother to take second place. Laura Pibworth and Maggie Morgan looked magnificent in their fluorescent vests. Sue Gough DIDN’T get a PB today but she hasn’t lost her mojo – on the contrary, she ran this morning as a bit of a warm-up for the Sutton Park relay races THIS AFTERNOON!

Kyza Derby, Paul Slatford and Liz Reilly represented Sphinx AC in this charity 10k race around Coventry Memorial Park. Conditions were warm but this didn’t prevent Kyza storming home in 2nd place overall and Paul in 10th, nor did it prevent Liz from comfortably beating her target time. 22 Sphinx AC and Saracens runners ran this weekend, with 1 first-timer and 8 PBs. Sphinx had four runners in the top ten and seven runners in the top twenty, with four of those seven being PBs – a fantastic presence and a great show of achievement. ParkRun is going to have to be renamed to GoughRun, as mother and daughter Sue and Catherine both get PBs for the 19th and 12th time respectively!
