Results for Sphinx AC General Knowledge Quiz, 04-Jun-2010

Twenty seven Sphinx AC ‘runners’ spread across thirteen teams took part in this undulating event in extremely warm conditions. In a very close battle, the ladies team (The Spice Girls) took 3rd place behind Bern, Ashley, Janine and Theresa’s team (Six Below Zero) but the overall winners were Ben Orme‘s Hillie’s Heroes. Results for Mercia Mile, 23-May-2010

A number of Sphinx AC juniors ran the Mercia Mile, which takes place while the Coventry Half Marathon is under way. Bizarrely, the event organisers don’t publish an official list of results for this event. We had a good turnout of Sphinx Juniors, with Amarpal Sahota second over the line followed by Joe Downing in third and Alfie Meade in fourth place. The girls had a battle of their own with Ellen Bollard just pipping Sophie Edge on the line to be first girl home.

Results for British Milers Club, 22-May-2010

Jamie Cozens ran in an U17 men’s 1500m race in the British Milers Club event at Milton Keynes and achieved a fantastic new PB of 04:18.56 – a 7 second improvement. The pacemaker for the race was aiming for 04:18, running 68s and 70s for the first 800m. Jamie ran with Joe Shail from Godiva right behind the pacemaker who ran for 1200m in splits of 68s , 71s and 69s.
