Sphinx AC junior Alfie Meade ran for Warwickshire Under 13 boys yesterday (10-Mar-2012) at Cofton Park in the Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships (televised live all day on Sky TV). Alfie finished 6th counter from 8 for Warwickshire in 168th place from 306 runners. Bearing in mind that the county teams are made up of the best 8 runners from each county this was a great result from Alfie. The Warwickshire under 13 boys team finished 14th of 40 teams.
24 Sphinx AC and Saracens runners ran this weekend, with no first-timers and 7 PBs. Kyza Derby won the race outright, improving his PB by 5 seconds in the process. Sphinx AC had four runners in the top 10, unintimidated by “the other club” and their so-called “smackdown”!
