Silverstone 10K Travel Arrangements for Wednesday 6th May: Meet at Copsewood at 5.30 p.m., journey time is about an hour, then we need to register/pick up numbers, etc., so aim to arrive at Silverstone about 6.40 p.m. Race starts at 7.30 p.m. If you wish to meet at the club and car share, please let me know. 12 Sphinx runners took part in the 35th anniversary of the London marathon, and all put in really good performances. Andy Wilkinson achieved a sub-3hr time, Steve Colbourne achieved the highest category placing (67th) and Narinder achieved a sub-4hr time. Hamilton, Dave, Steven, Jackie, Mark, Laura and Andy were sub-4:30, and Fiona achieved a sub-5:30 time.
Thanks to the Sphinx supporters along the way, including Chrissie and Helen.

21 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with no first-timers and no PBs.
This year’s handicap races got underway over the gently undulating course near Grandborough. Although there is a competitive side to the races the series also provides an opportunity for a social run or to use the race for training or for newer members the chance to run the distance in an informal competition. Once again the handicap series proved to be popular with old and new members alike as a record turnout for Grandborough of 36 runners took part, with 14 of those running the course for the first time.
Winner of the first race of the year was Andy Norton who finished in 37:16 over 5 minutes quicker than his estimated time.
The next race is on Thursday 14th May at Brinklow starting at 7:00.
Max completed this big-city marathon in less than 4 hours, despite a dodgy knee. Well done, Max, rest that knee.
14 Sphinx runners took part in this popular, local 10km spring race. Lots of good performances and, according to runbritain, Julie Kendall achieved a PB time.
Well done to all.
26 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with 1 first-timer and 2 PBs.
The PBs were achieved at Coventry by Will and Lauren – well done! Alex was a first-timer at Daventry.

Hamilton completed this popular south-coast marathon and finished in sub-4:30 time, whilst nursing injuries along the way.
3 Sphinx runners (Dorota, Joanna and Monika) completed this 40 mile course in around the edge of Coventry (and sometimes beyond).
