Ian has sent the following message: Just to update everyone I have completed 150 miles in 9 days but have made the decision not to continue any further this trip as I am having a lot of discomfort in my knees coming down hill and don’t want to risk getting stranded on the moors. Mitch has sent the following report:
5 Sphinx runners made the trip to Jersey for their annual half-marathon. A point to point course starting from St. Ouen in the west, then down and along the coast back to St. Helier, which made it a very scenic ‘links course’, so to speak. Misty and cool to start, warming up as the race progressed. Perfect running conditions and an overall downhill course made it a potential PB run, but 6 pints of the local Jersey ‘Liberation Ale’ the night before whilst watching the footie soon put paid to such wild thoughts. A great weekend though, already planning for the Reykjavik Half-Marathon August 2017 😀
Andy, Jackie and Mitch traversed the Channel and completed the Jersey parkrun for the first time, as part of the running festival. Elsewhere, Steve Osmond set a new best for himself at Leamington.
Congratulations from all at Sphinx to David West and family on the birth of their daughter, Sophia West – 6lb 11oz.
David West, Jamie Richards and Mitch Timms completed this 5 mile race, with thunderstorms towards the end.
5 Sphinx runners did well in hot conditions, with Darren Hallett and Allen El-Sour finishing in sub-1:30, Laura Duggins sub-1:45, and Lisa Abbott and Andy Wilkinson sub-2:00.

Fantastic event, glorious weather, picturesque course along coastal paths and trails with amazing views of the hills and surrounding countryside and a final kilometre along the beach jumping over the wave-breakers, good job the tide was out!
So that’s the hat-trick, my favourite Park Run, my favourite off-road run and my favourite 10K all in the space of a week 😀
Well done to Kevin Dick for PBing at Coventry. Elsewhere, Andy Wilkinson was a first timer at Wycombe Rye and Dorota was a first timer at Krakow.
