Congratulations to Samuel Griffiths on completing his 100th parkrun, and that’s before he reaches 10 years-of-age! Also, congratulations to Barry Allen on his PB, that’s 4 PBs in his last 6 runs at Coventry! Also at Coventry, there were many Sphinx volunteering: Andy Wilkinson, Ian Wilkinson, Kevin Dick, Lisa Abbott, Paul slatford and Vickie Hand.
Elsewhere, Steve Osmond made his first appearance at Winchester, as did Alex Bartlett and Andrew Hales at Cannon Hill.
5 Sphinxies completed this sprint triathlon, held at the Excel centre. They swam 400 metres in the pool, transitioned to bike and cycled 25.75km, then transitioned to foot and ran ~5.5km. Well done to Dorota, Wayne, Catherine, Rachael and Sue!
Well done to Barry Allen on notching a new PB at Coventry, Lisa Abbott did Brueton parkrun for the first time and Jayne Phelps did likewise at Penrith.

Mitch Timms, David West, Paul Carberry and Lisa Abbott completed this local 10k race that takes in the countryside to the south of Stratford and traverses the river Avon.
There was a definite North-East flavour this week as Imran Ali and Andy Hales took in Newcastle and Durham parkruns respectively the day before the Great North Run. Elsewhere, Alex Bartlett did Gladstone parkrun for the first time and Andy Wilkinson did the same at Exeter Riverside.

my first 20mile race in which the organisers described as frequently hilly!and boy it was especially at mile 9,after checking my strava segments.that hill was just short of a mile I think and maxed out at 6.6%!but a good challenge with a time of 2hour 35min 15sec
There was a good turnout of 25 Sphinx runners for this popular local half-marathon, organised by Kenilworth Runners. Congratulations to Laura on her PB and to Catherine, Barry, Rachael and Vicki on their first half-marathons!
This was also the club’s designated half-marathon handicap trophy race, where Jackie S predicts a finish time for everyone and the person that beats the estimate by the most wins the Club half-marathon trophy. The results are included below.
A quiet-ish parkrun Saturday but Andy Hales took in another new venue, this time running at Banbury.
