Apart from Ashley Miles, who comfortably wins this week’s ParkRun, men of Sphinx should hang up their shoes as the ladies are ON FIRE at the moment. For the fourth consecutive week, Sphinx junior Catherine Gough achieves ANOTHER PB, knocking a full 30 seconds off last week’s time. Catherine’s mum, Susan Gough, shaves 12 seconds off her PB (also set last week) and Maggie Morgan finally gets under the elusive 30-minute milestone with the third PB of the morning.
The EGM next Wednesday is to discuss the annual membership fees paid to Cov & North Warwick from April next year. Following meetings with members of their committee we will be discussing and voting on the increase in fees proposed by the club and the impact this will have on our members. Sphinx AC may be significantly affected by the result of the vote, so it is strongly recommended that all members attend this meeting to ensure a true majority verdict is cast.
Sphinx AC runners Mallory English and Catherine Gough both get mentioned in this week’s ParkRun news, and Mitch Timms didn’t take two hours to run Inverness ParkRun! Catherine Gough enjoyed her third PB in as many weeks last weekend, finishing in third place overall. Mallory English – who is still in the junior women category – set the course record for her category and got a PB at the same time.
Mike Wall represented Sphinx AC in this XC race in sunny Stockport, finishing 18th overall. Len Mullen appeared as an extra the Oscar-winning film “Chariots of fire”.
