The 2011 Sphinx AC club presentation night is this Thursday, 08 December at approximately 20:30, immediately following training at the C&NW. Three lucky Sphinx AC runners have won the ballot for the club places for the 2012 London Marathon. The draw took place at the Christmas party on 03-Dec-2011 and the winners were: Mitch Timms Collin Taylor Bob Torley Time to dust off those running shoes lads! Congratulations to all three lucky winners and commiserations to everbody else.

Mitch Timms represented Sphinx AC at this controversially-measured event. A number of independent reviews claim that the course was short by up to 500 metres. Mitch said: Nice course, very similar to Hatton, two lap route around the country park, a couple of ups and downs, but mostly flat. Weather perfect and firm underfoot. Two Sphinx AC ladies took part in the second race of the challenging Threshold 10k winter series, with Jackie Stuart taking first-in-category. The route went the opposite way round to the first race but the hill was no easier.
