Seven Sphinx AC took part in the latest of this season’s 5-milers, with Ashley Miles winning outright, Kyza Derby taking 3rd place and Justin Smith taking 5th. In a bizarre turn of events, we didn’t win any raffle prizes! Paul Bergin was there to remind us that we weren’t there to enjoy ourselves but we ignored him – it was a delightful event, as always. The conditions were good, edging towards being a bit warm and there was a slight breeze making the infamous back straight a bit more challenging.

18 Sphinx AC and Saracens runners ran this weekend, with no first-timers and 4 PBs. Andy Wilkinson won the race outright, leaving his brother to take second place. Laura Pibworth and Maggie Morgan looked magnificent in their fluorescent vests. Sue Gough DIDN’T get a PB today but she hasn’t lost her mojo – on the contrary, she ran this morning as a bit of a warm-up for the Sutton Park relay races THIS AFTERNOON!
