Run Rabbit Festival

Thank you to Jackie for this write up On Saturday 11th May a group of hardy adventurers made their way to an event near Market Harborough, Leicestershire for the first Run Rabbit Festival in the area. There was the choice of 3 different challenges or you could combine them all and camp overnight. We opted to take part in the first, which was 5 x 5k over trails. Each run was over a different course, all starting on the hour.

Ciderton half marathon

Thank you to Vickie Hand for the following write up Bank holiday weekend and 2 sphinx embarked on a journey to Taunton for the 2nd year of the ciderthon event. Deciding to camp on a cider farm it was certainly going to be a cider fuelled weekend. Getting started with 4 pints of scrumpy whilst setting up camp. Saturday morning there was an opportunity for parkrun tourism which couldn’t be overlooked, so off we went to Street parkrun.

Stratford half & marathon part2

Following on from the results posted earlier, here is write up from Craig Robinson On a chilly but clear Sunday morning 8 Sphinx took on the half and 3 the 2-lap full marathon through the town centre and onto local villages and back into town via the dusty ‘Greenway.’ Conditions soon warmed up making for an enjoyable run around picturesque Warwickshire. The organisation was superb, as were the volunteers and crowds cheering us along our way.

Boston UK Marathon

Thank you to Stuart Bankbrook for this write up I ran the Boston UK Marathon on the 14th April (not the famous one in the USA), it is said to be the flattest marathon in the UK. Well I can confirm it is the flattest one I have ever run and I managed a new PB of 3:17:50. There are three races on offer the marathon, half marathon and fun run.
