We want our juniors to gain confidence and ability while taking enjoyment from measurable improvement that comes from establishing new personal bests. Our coaches are already putting in the work behind the scenes in their own time with the financial backing from the club, attaining UKA-recognised coaching qualifications. This establishes a solid training structure that will provide the athletes with a better standard of coaching across a range of disciplines in anticipation of increased awareness of the sport after the Olympics.

West Midlands Young Athletes Cross Country League

Please note that the bulk of athletes’ names need to submitted a month before the first race. A new ruling is now in place for athletes who are 8 years old, if they are 9 at any time before the final race they will be allowed to compete in all five races.

Quadkids
This is the league for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. All events start promptly at 6.30pm and last until approximately 8pm. The children all take part in four events: a short sprint, a 600m run, the long jump and a junior javelin throw!
There is no restriction on the number of young athletes competing so this is an ideal way to introduce them to athletics in an informal and supportive environment. Our coaches will be around on the night to assist them.
If you would like your child to compete and they haven’t already given their details to any of the coaches then please make contact with any of the coaches asap so they can be included on the declaration sheets.
CSW Super 8 League
This new initiative was trialled this year for school years 6 through to 9. (U13 to U15 athletes).

Open Events and Fun Runs
These are usually for all age groups with events from U11 to Seniors. They usually require pre-entry. Coaches will provide more information or check the websites of the appropriate clubs. Dates will be added as soon as they are know.
