Congratulations to Sphinx Mixed Team A - winners of this year’s Cotswold Hilly 100 Relay race in a fantastic time of 11h 42’. The Hilly 100 is a 100 mile road relay race divided into 10 legs of approximately 10 miles each following mainly minor roads through the Cotswolds incorporating a fair few hills along the way (hence the name). Our popular Summer 5 race returns on Wednesday 7th June at Memorial Park in Coventry. Entry is just £10 (£12 unaffiliated) and includes a bespoke finisher’s medal. Rumour is that there will also be cake…. As in previous years a 2km kids fun run will precede the main race so why not make it a family evening? Entries are still available via Runbritain
Thursday 11th May saw the 2nd race in this year’s handicap series take place at Brinklow. Congratulations go to Tom Marchi as first runner over the line and the phenomenal Dave Brewis as the fastest runner on the night with a new course record of 29:01. Well done to all runners and a special mention to our four debutant runners - Peter, Koura, Andy and Richard as well as the returning Kathryn.

Sphinx Summer Relays Sphinx AC were pleased to host our annual 1 mile relays again this year. We saw 99 teams from 7 different local clubs with both Juniors and Seniors taking part side by side, across the 3 races. With teams made up of names drawn from a hat it gives Sphinx Members the opportunity to race with different people, mix and socialise on a lovely summers evening, Taking the chance to eat, drink and enjoy the weather.
Sphinx AC were pleased to host our annual Summer 5 Junior 2km Fun Run prior to the 5 mile senior race. 34 junior athletes took part and pulled out excellent efforts all round. Everyone should be extremely proud of themselves. Thanks to the parents for bringing their children along. Sphinx AC really loves to see juniors taking part and it gives the current seniors something to worry about – to see who they will be competing against in future years!
