42 Sphinx runners completed their home city half-marathon, with excellent times and performances. For some it was their first half-marathon, for others it was part of their marathon training. Well done to all.
Numbers were down on the usual Sphinx representation…can’t think why! I’m sure that the 4 that did make it enjoyed the blustery conditions.
6 Sphinx runners took on this muddy, cross-country 15-mile challenge, and their reward was cake!
Paul Slatford got a top 5 finish, and the Sphinx youth showed the way by recording 2 PBs and 2nd lady. Well done to Adam, Lauren and Robyn. Also, Julie Hall matched her PB to the second.
A hardy bunch of Sphinx runners and supporters made their way down to London Town for the 2015 English National Cross Country Championships. 4 men and 6 ladies were cheered on by the blue and gold support.
Joanna made her debut at the parkrun in Gdansk and finished as the 2nd lady across the line.
There was a good turnout at Coventry and Jane set her second PB in a week!
David West ran at Brueton and set a new PB.
Narinder and Jane completed this race, organised by Reading Roadrunners, with Jane bagging a PB. Well done both.
6 junior athletes from Sphinx attended the last x country meet at Alexander Stadium. A cold and damp day greeted us and once again there was a great atmosphere as athletes jostled for position in the final race. Our 6 competed well, without complaint and, sorry Mr Chairman they all enjoyed themselves.
Special mention to Braydon, Daniel, Michael, Adam and Annie who competed in all 5 races this season. well done and thanks to all the other juniors who raced this season.
26 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran today, with 2 PBs being notched up at Coventry. Well done to David West and Julie Hall.
