Once again, our 3 Sphinx runners were rewarded with sausages at the end of this race. Conditions were damp and the course was undulating, but that didn’t stop Lisa running a course PB.
The day after. Some felt bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, some felt full-bellied and liver-failed, many felt somewhere in between.
At Coventry, Robyn McSharry notched up her 100th parkrun; Catherine Gough was first lady at Gadebridge; Darren Hallett was 3rd at Blandford, bagging a new course PB in the process; and Alex Bartlett continues on his road to full recovery – well done to all!

Took the opportunity to run this today with my daughter, Katie, her boyfriend, Tom Padgett and his father, Graham, as it is approximately the midpoint between their house in Nottingham and Coventry.
Only ran this PR once before, in the middle of summer, but definitely in my top 5.
One lap course, all on trail, so a bit soggy underfoot in places, especially through the trees, but very flat apart from one aptly named ‘Cheeky Little Hill’ (a marshall was actually holding up up a sign displaying this).
Proud to run with three ‘Couch to 5k’ participants (indeed Graham only started running (from scratch) in August) and looking forward to doing Colwick Park Run, Nottingham with them next Saturday.
There was a fine turnout at Coventry for a pre-Christmas-meal workout to offset the later excesses. Imran even managed a festive PB – well done!
Further afield, Gerry and Tom Anstiss completed Woodhouse Moor Christmas day parkrun.
Mitch and Jackie were joined by Kev for the second of their weekend triple-header. The Gallop is a five and a quarter mile cross country race, including a dew pond, a length of four foot diameter drainage pipe and a wade along a length of the Gaddesby Brook.
8 Sphinx runners completed this multi-terrain, festive-themed race. This was also the third in The Timms weekend triple-header.
At Melton Mowbray, The Timms finish in the top 50 of the first of their weekend triple-header.
At Coventry, Lisa Abbott set a new personal best – looks like the Bergin Thursday Fartlek sessions have come up trumps!
9 Sphinx runners completed this festive-themed half-marathon.
The weather was wet, cold and windy and 18 Sphinx runners started the weekend with 5km.
Our ladies battled the windy conditions as they competed in the second of four cross-country league fixtures.
The 3rd fixture is at Gloucester on 16th January.
5 Sphinx runners made the trip to Warley Woods to compete in the 3rd round of the 5-round season. Conditions were challenging and they all did themselves and the club proud.
The next fixture is on 17th January at Burbage Common, Nuneaton.
