Happy 6th birthday to Coventry parkrun and happy 200th parkrun to Mitch.

The conditions at Coventry were on the damp side with rain, rain and a bit more rain. Lisa and Lore didn’t allow that to slow them down and registered PBs.
7 ladies and 3 men represented Sphinx at the Midland XC Championships, held at Loughborough.
The next cross-country fixtures take us back to the league on the 13th February, with the ladies travelling to Wolverhampton and the men to Gloucester. Please contact the respective captains if you want to take part.
There was a good number of Sphinx runners starting the weekend with a parkrun, across many locations.
Andy Wilkinson finished in the top 5 at Coventry, Alex Bartlett had a birthday run around Black Park and, hold on to your hats as some parkrun trivia comes flying at you, Mitch was 199th male on his 199th parkrun!
This week’s Coventry parkrun was brought to you by the A team of Ian and Andy Wilkinson, plus Sarj but not Paul Slatford (a louder alarm clock may be required!).

Mitch and Jackie S competed in one of the oldest races in Northamptonshire, a cross-country race over approximately 6 miles.
Ninj, Andy and Jane completed the 33rd running of this half-marathon in Cheshire.
As some of you may know, the Coventry Runner shop was broken into and hundreds of pounds worth of kit and shoes were stolen. The owners, Vince and Sandy Clisham, are very generous supporters of Sphinx AC races and would very much appreciate it if you reported to the police any instances of somebody trying to sell cheap running gear. Lisa, Laura, Helen and Jackie competed well for the club in the 3rd round of the Midland Women’s Cross-Country league.
13 Sphinx runners braved the wintry conditions to complete this popular road race of approximately 7.5 miles, organised by Stratford AC.
Kev Naughton finished 1st in his category and Tom Marchi finished 2nd in his category – well done!
