Also at Coventry, whilst on a flying visit to Coventry, former Sphinx Quentin Henry and his wife Camille ran Quentin’s favourite parkrun course (see picture below)! To quote Laura P-D: They’ve just left for the airport after being stuffed full of typical British food - we had cream tea, curry at the Dhaka Dynasty and today, roast beef!

There was plenty of parkrun tourism this week with Pawel Langer first-timing at Bournemouth, Karen Timothy first-timing at Belton House, Mitch and Jackie Timms first-timing at Stratford-upon-Avon, and Alex Bartlett, Imran Ali and Vicky Brewin attending the first ever Wythall parkrun. There was plenty going on a Coventry again on parkrunday, with Tony O’Brien completing his 50th parkrun and making it to the final of our parkrun competition - well done, Tony! Also, some Sphinxees were at the park earlier than usual to support Massey’s Dave Fawkner in his parkrun ultra. Dave was grateful for the support and has messaged: A big hello to Sphinx A.C. and thank you to those that came to the parkrun Ultra and supported my run To hear that an email had been sent to try and rally some support was unexpected, so the likes of Al rocking up at 2am in his Sphinx vest was amazing!

Mitch notched up his 250th parkrun on Saturday and Jackie completed her 50th parkrun. The celebrations (photos below) included Hawaiian shirts, balloons of varying number! and a conga finish. It was also Mitch’s 200th parkrun at Coventry and he almost finished in 250th position…almost.

Also at Coventry. well done to Brian McSharry, Bobby Hartwell and Paul Gocher on PBs!

Elsewhere, Barry Allen, Vicky Brewin and Rachael Allen joined in with Corby’s 200th parkrun celebrations, The Carvers were first-timers at Tamar Trails and well done to Alex Bartlett on a PB at Rushmoor.
