Three Sphinx AC runners completed this lacklustre marathon, with Andy Lovelock storming home in his first ever marathon event.

Perfect conditons, no wind, no rain, sun shining, 8 degrees C. Tedious three-lap course, slightly undulating, but no ‘stinkers’. Well organised and very supportive marshalls. Delightful village of Streatley, however drab shop-loading areas, subways and housing estates made this an instantly forgettable run. Definitely not doing this one EVER again. Ran round together in a shade short of 4:15. 288.41 miles down and 26.22 to go -happy days :). Roll on December 9th and our last off-roader of the year in Stratford. Finally congratulations to Andy Lovelock on the completion of his first full marathon in a cracking time of 3:09.
