Results for Brinklow handicap, 16-May-2013

By Rob | May 20, 2013

The second of this year’s Sphinx AC handicap races took place on a chilly evening; despite the cool weather a record turnout for this course of 53 runners took part. This included several members taking part in their first club handicap plus 3 guest runners. Setting competitive handicap times becomes tricky which is shown in the results with the first and second runners across the line not being caught by later starters, as they both ran 5 minutes quicker than their predicted time.

First across the line in 50:03 was Karen Dowey followed by Wendy Foxall (50:14) and making a welcome guest appearance, Charlotte Kertestrel who finished in 43:30. Quickest run of the evening was from Ashley Miles, who broke the course record, completing the 5.5 miles in 31:12. 2nd quickest and also inside the previous course record was Kyza Derby who was 6th across the line in 31:58. The 3rd fastest run of the evening came from Ian Wilkinson who finished in 32:50. We had 16 runners competing over this course for the first time and congratulations to the 11 who set a new PB.
