Slats & Wilko’s Grand Day Out!

By Rob | September 30, 2014

This Saturday sees the 10th anniversary of the very first Park Run which took place on the 2nd October 2004 at Bushy Park.

Andy Wilkinson and Paul Slatford are going to Bushy Park this Saturday to join in the celebrations and are inviting anyone who wishes to join them.

This is the extract from Bushy Park Run’s website http://www.parkrun.org.uk/bushy/news/

Happy Birthday parkrun!

A reminder that Saturday is International parkrun Day! We will also be celebrating parkrun’s 10th birthday as well as Bushy parkrun’s 10th birthday! So do remember to arrive early, particularly if you are coming by car and try to park at The Pheasantry first – this only 5 minutes away from the start and is much quicker to leave the park afterwards too, but we hope you won’t be in any rush to leave when you’ve finished your run! As is customary at Bushy on the anniversary, there will be a few presentations taking place before the usual 9am start, so aim to get to the start area by 8:45am! The first 13 parkrunners from the 2nd October 2004 – the parkrun pioneers, will be present for the very first time together in 10 years!

If you would like to accompany them, they are meeting at Copsewood at 6.00 a.m., yes 6.00 a.m., as it is about a two-hour trip and there will be a stop off en route.

If you are interested in attending and happy to car share please contact Andy Wilkinson at andywilkinson@sphinx.org.uk or let him know at the club on Thursday.
