A number of Sphinx AC runners, juniors and family members ran in events associated with Monks Kirby’s Village Fete.
There are two races held in conjunction with the Monks Kirby Village Fete. In the 3 mile race, Sphinx AC’s Collin Taylor, who is also a Village Elder, was a clear winner with Nick Gilkes and Pete Delaney the other Sphinx runners in the race.
This is followed by a 1 mile race in which we had the first boy in Scott Truslove and the first girl, the rapidly improving Hannah Downing. A bit of a Downing Family Outing as brother, Joe Downing, was second boy home and sister, Rachel Downing, was third girl home. Prizes were presented by Countess Denbigh no less!
Other runners in the 1 mile, in no particular order were Joseph Gilkes, Edward Delaney, Sam Smith, Cathy Truslove with Bethany(?).
