Mitch Timms provided this narrative:
The first EMGP event of the season and, as usual, the most popular, saw 16 Sphinx runners take on the home of British motor-racing. Definitely a night for ‘slicks’ with a damp circuit, but fortunately the rain held off for the event itself. Windy on the back-straight and a deceptive climb back to the pits where the race started and finished. PB’s were scarce (even Justin didn’t get one!) as disappointingly the Garmins were unanimous in their display of a course 10.1+ kilometres in length. Well done to Laura Pibworth and Mary Bench though, both confirming their PBs (and apologies if there were others). Congratulations to Ashley Miles (first old git) and to Andrejs Blakunovs, first new kid on the block, hopefully the start of things to come as the series progresses. Final thanks to all the drivers on the night who encountered horrendous conditions on the journey back and apologies for the navigational disaster en route. Rugby 6 next Wednesday, Bring it on!

George Wilkinson (Janine’s dad) took lots and lots of photos. This page will be updated when they’re available.
