Eight women and eighteen men made the short journey to Leamington Spa for the first event of this year’s Birmingham League/Midlands Women’s XC races. Conditions were dry and bright but the ground was soft and only got softer as the races progressed! The ditch and the hill were there, as always, as were the crowds baying for mud. Hamilton Ngan made his XC debut and promptly lost his shoes in the process!
Women
At the time of writing, the women’s results hadn’t been posted online but Fiona Quinn had received an officially-distributed spreadsheet.
When this page was first published, the women’s team results weren’t available but they have been confirmed as:
Sphinx: 29 out of 36: 166, 186, 187 = 539
Men – Hamilton’s watch recorded 6.33 miles (though his shoes travelled considerably less)

We clearly need to field all of our best runners in the three remaining races to ensure that we stay in division two.
