The race was severely affected by unavoidable problems, as what was compacted snow had turned to black ice overnight.

The conditions meant that Masseys had to either call it off or alter the course – and since 57 runners were standing there waiting, Masseys went for a hasty re-route! We ended up doing five small laps within the Memorial Park which was estimated at about 5K, then revised down to 4K. The uncertainty of the actual distance of the final route is reflected in the significant differences between estimated and actual times.

Update: Paul Bergin has been officially informed that the retrospectively-measured, GPS-verified distance was 2.4 miles or 3.85K.
