The final race in this year’s Summer Handicap series, was held in windy conditions over an undulating course near Grandborough. This is the 3rd year this course has been used for the last race and this year saw a record turnout of 27 runners. Wayne Broadbent took full advantage of a generous handicap time to improve on his 3rd place last week to win the race in 34:30, passing Amy Frank (43:16) in the last 200 metres, third across the line was Tom Marchi in 45:16. The fastest run of the day came from Justin Smith in 29:27 with Andy Wilkinson (29:35) and Kyza Derby (30:11) completing the top three.

A review of the Summer Handicap series will appear in the newsletter with the names of the winners of the trophies. The final club handicap race for this year will be the Rugby 10 on October 14th.
