5 Sphinx AC runners made the trip down the M40 to the small town of Brackley, Northants for this 10k event.
Mitch Timms provided this narrative:
Although the rain was incessant, conditions for running were cool, calm and more or less perfect. The course was an ‘out and back’ pan-handle affair, circumventing a disused airfield en route. A couple of testing slopes and the decaying flat runway made it a challenging course. Congratulations to Ashley Miles on winning the event outright in an excellent time of 34:44 and to Justin Smith on his 5th place (36:29). Sphinx AC were just pipped to the team prize by Silson Joggers, maybe next time….
