Ladies’ Captain, Fiona Quinn, represented Sphinx AC at only the second ever Enniskillen Park Run in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland this weekend.
Their website describes the course thus:
“The course starts on the cinder track outside the Lakeland Forum followed by two laps of the running track. The route then follows the bitmac path alongside and over the river Erne footbridge to the playing fields. The runners then complete three laps of the gravel paths around the playing fields, and head back towards the Lakeland Forum via the same footbridge. Finally returning to the running track and onto the finish line on the cinder track.”
Fi commented that, nowhere in the small print does it mention the ‘killer’ hill that needed to be negotiated en route.
Notwithstanding this, she still managed a Course PB

The course started with 2 laps around a running track then over the Loch Erne footbridge, 3 laps of the playing fields and back over the bridge to the finish line. This was only the second parkrun to take place in Enniskillen so it wasn’t very busy but the people were friendly and the view of the loch was lovely.
