Results for Cheltenham XC, 09-Feb-2013

By Rob | February 12, 2013

A veritable convoy of Sphinx AC men and women made the trip down the A46 to Cheltenham for the final race in this season’s Birmingham & District XC league races. The men’s result was sufficient to maintain our placement in the 2nd of the three divisions.

The new club tent made its maiden voyage and was put to good use. Conditions were surprisingly good, given the unexpected snow that had fallen in the morning and the drizzly conditions experienced on the journey to the venue. Maxwell Kmicic and Mark Moran both muddied their feet for the first time and both seemed to enjoy themselves. Many thanks to the Sphinx AC ladies that stayed behind after their race to support the men, plus the continuing support from Richard and Jackie!

Richard Bagley and Janine & Ashley miles got some great shots but the light was poor, negatively affecting shutter speeds:

Massey Ferguson and Northbrook AC men’s teams have both been running in division 3 this year, but everybody has been training and racing like champions and both clubs have been promoted to division two. The 2013/14 season will therefore see three out of the four Coventry running clubs all competing in the same races.
