Wayne Broadbent and Gerry Anstiss represented Sphinx AC in the first ever event promoted by the Brownlee brothers (2012 Olympic champions).

[We] headed up north to compete in the first Brownlee Triathalon at Fountains Abbey near Ripon north Yorkshire. The event was a super sprint: 400m open water lake swim (a tropical 11c), a 10km closed road bike course and then a 2.5km run though the park and running inside the abbey ruins to the finish line.
