The Canal Canter is an 18 or 27 mile self navigated route around the extensive canal network of Birmingham. There are various checkpoints along the route offering delights such as porridge, toast, sandwiches and at one glorious checkpoint a selection of homemade cakes to judge for the cake competition. At the finish there is a hot meal and pudding. The route follows the canals and rivers around the centre of Birmingham, going past Cadburys, the Sea Life Centre , NIA, Winson Green Prison and underneath Spaghetti junction (nice trifle here) before returning to the start point at the Ackers Adventure Centre. All this for £10, great value and a good day out.
