Result for Worcester duathlon, 26-May-2013

Sphinx AC junior Annie Cox took part in the Worcester Children’s Duathlon at the weekend, the third race of the British Triathlon Tristar and Youth Series.

Competitors in this race are awarded points in a competition against other children from the six counties that form part of the West Midlands league. A Duathlon is a run, followed by a cycle and finished with a run. The event took place in the grounds of Worcester University, with a challenging cycle route and the running circuits taking place on an astro turf track. Annie’s first run section was 2k, followed by an 8km cycle and finished by an 800m run! Annie held on to third place after overtaking on the cycle section and finishing with a brilliant 800m run.

Annie’s time for the 2k run/8k cycle/800m run was 23:43, finishing 3rd overall.

This was Annie’s third race in the British Triathlon West Midland’s series and she currently holds second place.
