Recently-joined member Andrejs has asked for a forum to send a message to everybody at Sphinx AC. After reading it, you'll understand why I made this front-page news.

Dear Sphinx AC,

I am going back to my parents for a month and will come back only next year. I want to say some words to you.

First of all, I would like to say big thanks to all members of the club. I remember myself coming first time on a track to Lyng Hall school after two hours searching in google maps. When I finally got it I was quite nervous. Maybe because I didn't know what to say and what to start with as I was not confident about my English, however I just wanted to ask about track availability. But when I met Paul Bergin I relaxed in one second. I was lucky as they had a training after 20 minutes. I joined and was pleasantly astonished.

Sphinx AC was a perfect place for me to start. Here I got all kinds of support. People are very friendly and always smile to you. I was really surprised about it, as where I am from there can't be so much good people in one place! I think it does not depend on British culture - simply every athlete in Sphinx club is kind and cheerful. Atmosphere inside is fantastic and appreciate people's attitude to running. Also club on Binley Road is a magic place, I never want to go home from there. It is so homely!

Thank you very much for great reception! I am sure I made right decision when joined Sphinx AC. Hopefully will see you again in 2012. Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
