Christmas 2010 timetable and events

By Rob | December 7, 2010

As you know – Christmas is nearly here! So this is just a few lines on when and where training will take place and other events. As far as the training is concerned it is particularly important that those who are taking part in the County Championships on 8 January 2011 attend as many training sessions as possible.

Junior training – all session start at 7.00 pm

Mon 13 Dec Lyng Hall School – final session of 2010. Sessions resume Mon 10 Jan.
Wed 15 Dec Memorial Park – always meet at main Park and Ride car park
Mon 20 Dec Memorial Park
Wed 22 Dec Memorial Park
Mon 27 Dec No Training
Wed 29 Dec Memorial Park
Mon 03 Jan Memorial Park
Wed 05 Jan Memorial Park
Mon 10 Jan Lyng Hall School – first session of 2011.

On Sunday 19 December the Club has a race as part of its Winter Race Series at Abbey Fields in Kenilworth parking in the car park next to the Church. There is a 1 mile race and a 3 mile race with a mass start – EVERYONE is welcome. You can run either race but obviously the younger ones should only run the 1 miler. Meet at 10.30 for an 11.00 am start and it really is a good day.

Tuesday 28 December – Massey-Ferguson Running Club hold a 3 mile race in Memorial Park that starts at 11.00 am. As it’s a local club we do try to support each other’s races. You don’t have to be a member of a club but you do have to pay to enter the race. They have more details on their website. [Edit by Bern: Entry is ONLY on-the-day]

On Sunday 2 January we hold our own 3 mileish race/run in Memorial Park called The Kat Plate Run starting at 11.00 am. It is really just a bit of fun and we encourage parents to run with their children and maybe a bit of fancy dress. After going home for a shower (and straighten your hair etc) we all meet back at the Cov and North Warks Cricket Club for free soup and roll etc. Each person who has run brings along a wrapped present and we have a bit of a lucky dip. One of the wrapped presents is a Kat Plate ornament that defies description and the lucky recipient gets to keep it for a year!

Hope to see you at some of these events and that you have a Great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
